every fostering journey starts somewhere
meet Nicola
Like many people, Nicola was interested in fostering but wanted to find out more before deciding whether it was right for her.
Attending a Cuppa with a Carer gave her the opportunity to ask questions, hear first hand experiences and gain a better understanding of what fostering could look like for her family.
That conversation helped Nicola take the next step.
Today, Nicola is an approved Foster Wales Flintshire foster carer, making a difference to the lives of local children in her community.
If you’d like to find out more about Nicola’s journey from attending a Cuppa with a Carer to becoming a foster carer, you can read her story here.
“it was really refreshing to meet someone who is doing it day in and day out and could talk honestly about fostering, the ups and the downs. I think I was expecting something much more formal, but it just felt natural and comfortable. I could ask anything, and that made a huge difference.”
“cuppa with a carer has been a real turning point. people get to sit down with a foster carer, hear their honest, everyday experiences, and that gives them the confidence to make an informed decision. i’ve watched them go from unsure to really excited, knowing they’re making the right choice for their future and their family.”
